Our Initiatives

1
Community Outreach
This initiative is centered around community engagement, where we aim to both educate and excite students about neuroscience. Our goal is to inspire students of all ages to pursue neuroscience related fields. With this in mind, we specifically tailor our outreach events and experiences to the grade and level of student understanding! We have hosted outreach events for students aged 5-17!
2
Discussing Research
We organize a casual talk initiative where faculty and students come together to discuss their own ongoing research and/or practice upcoming presentations. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions, give feedback, and discuss the research with the presenter. This initiative is geared towards individuals who have at least an undergraduate level of understanding of neuroscience, but all are welcome!
3
Providing Mentorship
The mentor series initiative provides a casual environment where women-identifying guest lecturers from both academia and industry are invited to speak about their academic and/or career journeys, challenges, and triumphs in the field of neuroscience, and provide career advice. With this initiative we hope to build mentorships and connections between emerging neuroscientists and established women in the field.
